Gilbert Doctorow's latest book, "War Diaries. The Russia-Ukraine War, 2022-2023" is a unique contribution to literature on the war thanks to the author's reports on the Russian home front written during his periodic visits to St Petersburg at a time when Russia no longer issued visas and nearly all Western journalists had left the country. Doctorow's two-volume "Memoirs of a Russianist" published in 2020 also constitutes a category of its own, consisting largely of diary entries rather than reminiscences written decades later.. Volume 2 focuses on the community of 50,000 expatriate managers working and living in Moscow during the 1990s, about which none of his peers has yet to write.
Gilbert Doctorow is a professional Russia watcher and actor in Russian affairs going back to 1965. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College (1967), a past Fulbright scholar, and holder of a Ph.D. with honors in history from Columbia University (1975).
After completing his studies, Mr. Doctorow pursued a business career focused on the USSR and Eastern Europe. For twenty-five years he worked for US and European multinationals in marketing and general management with regional responsibility.
From 1998-2002, Doctorow served as the Chairman of the Russian Booker Literary Prize in Moscow. During the 2010-2011 academic year, he was a Visiting scholar of the Harriman Institute, Columbia University.
Mr. Doctorow is a long-time resident of Brussels.

I agree to this extent. The meme in the New York Times for example is ultimately that Donald Trump is not worth paying attention to because he is unintelligent. This extends to saying that his supporters, who in a landslide won the presidential election, are unintelligent also. Bref, they’re all morons.
Without commenting on the fact that the the initial Democratic candidate for President was found mentally incompetent and is currently President of the United States, Trump clearly learns from experience, has never smoked a cigarette or taken a drink in his life, and is basically creating a Tucker Carlson Administration, a man whose popularity became too great for Fox News to continue to employ him. Trump is a bright fellow and the truly moronic puppet masters of the Democratic party have only a very short time continue their dictatorship.. The only question is how many toys they can throw out of the playpen.
no mention about that anti Israel genocidal US arms supply on Reuters, for instance, but Hungarian resistance on ICC arrest warrant, what is the matter with Orban et al, bowing to USIsrael genocide against Palestinians in a most despicable and realtity distorting manner, are the Zionists in control of Hungarian government, or is Hungary tip to its eyeballs in debt to Zionist financiers? I am puzzled as to the motivation of Orban to promote Israel committing genocide against Palestinians and Lebanese!? How corrupt!!! and morally abhorrent!!!
Refusing to arrest war criminals in the name of justice is unforgivable, Mr Orban, shame on you and your governments foreign policy supporting terrorist Israel!! what sick times we are living in!! and the US is the sickest of them all! sorry just had to add this to let of steam!!
