It was quite stunning to watch the mainstream news coverage of today’s second and final day of summitry in Vilnius, when the failure to agree on a timeline for Ukraine’s possible admission to NATO was covered up by fine words about the creation of a NATO-Ukraine Council and readiness to admit Ukraine when all unspecified requirements for membership are met. In parallel, we heard about how G7 countries are offering to provide security guaranties to Ukraine on a bilateral basis, though it was unclear whether such ‘guaranties’ mean boots on the ground, if necessary, or just continuing supplies of war materiel.
I was delighted to be offered an opportunity by India’s leading English-language global television channel WION to cut through the double-talk and highlight the reality that Ukraine is now likely to be pushed into negotiations with Russia by its sponsors in Washington just as it was pushed into the launch of its counter-offensive while lacking air cover that is essential to all such operations.
I don’t know. The West considers Slavs to be Untermensch and the West considers themselves to be the Ubermensch. So the West is happy to have Slavs in Russia kill off Slavs in Ukraine and vice versa. And then the West can then come into these Slavic Lands and pick up the left over pieces for themselves. That’s called Lebensraum. Fab.

I mean this is right out of the Brzezinski Playbook Redux. We used the Mujahideen as Cannon Fodder in Afghanistan to produce the collapse of the Soviet Union. And now we are using the Ukrainians as Cannon Fodder to produce the collapse of the Russian Federation. Whether we succeed is another matter. But as all the Bidenite Proteges of Zbig see it, since it worked once already so it can work again. fab.

We know of course that before all this started in 2014 the people of the Ukraine, by a considerable margin, did not want to join NATO – they were just interested in joining the EC. I suspect that this, despite all, remains the case but the people have never had the chance to be asked. This NATO obsession, and obsession it truly is, has been driven by the so-called Nationalists or the Banderites who in reality only represent a minority in the country, probably when all is said and done, quite a small minority. So long as these Bandarites have control, it is extremely unlikely they will ever agree to neutrality, let alone the ceding of the ‘occupied’ territories to Russia. History surely tells us that people with that kind of political zealotry are just not capable of compromise; they would rather die, like the original zealots at Masada, than submit. As I see it, this can only end with the Bandarites being turfed out of control and sadly this will only be achieved with Russian tanks in Parliament Square or as it is now called the ‘Maidan Nezalezhnosti’ of Kiev .

I am wondering if Russia will insist on Washington’s direct participation in these negotiations alongside Ukraine, especially if the other related matters Russia wants to address — namely the missile pads in Poland and Romania and the abandoned arms control treaties — are of equally great concern in Moscow. Could these negotiations set the stage for a joint discussion of a new security framework for Europe? I believe Russia would want to act on this while NATO is down and the flame is hot, so to speak.

Bonjour,
can someone post a reference to Jack Sullivan’s interview (or speech?) M. Doctorow mentioned at 6:16?

Mr. Lutz,
I believe the interview in the link below is the one Dr. Doctorow referred to.
