Press TV, Iran’s ‘Spotlight’ on the visit to China of Brazil’s President Lula

Once again it is my pleasure to present a well organized discussion of one of the week’s key events, namely the visit of Brazilian President Lula to China in which the topics of de-dollarization and formation of more democratic institutions of global governance were foremost on the agenda.  Viewers will surely agree that the program’s host had well researched, probing questions. He also had the presence of mind to dig deeper into remarks by the two panelists in follow-up questions.

  1. What can I say? The reporting by Press TV is above and beyond what is produced in the whole West.

If may, one detail of the relationship between Brazil and China that is not mentioned in the West is that both countries set up a bank to clear mutual trade in the respective currencies. Methinks that Brazil, as a mid sized economy, is the test ground for future financial arrangements and institutions in the BRICS+. There’s likely more depth in the events involving Brazil that most analysts are missing.

  2. “Global chaos.” Marvelous answer. The US is keen to destabilize anything that might be a threat to its hegemony. I have no idea how we are going to turn the US around to policies supporting peace, trade and stability, but if the “rules-based order” collapses, better that it happens quickly.
